Donate on Adhik Maas — Let Your
Daan Multiply a Thousandfold
Adhik Maas (Purushottam Maas) 2026: 17 May to 15 June
Once every 32 to 33 months, the Hindu lunar calendar blesses us with a month unlike any other — Adhik Maas , also revered as Purushottam Maas. The scriptures call it the most spiritually charged month of the era, a divine window when every act of charity, every prayer, every act of selfless giving carries the blessings of Lord Vishnu himself.
The Padma Purana states clearly: a single act of Daan in Adhik Maas yields the merit that a lifetime of good deeds would ordinarily accumulate. This is not merely tradition — it is an invitation from the cosmos to pause, give, and be transformed.
At Akshayachaitanya, we make your Adhik Maas Daan reach where it matters most — to the hungry, the destitute, and the forgotten. When you donate during Purushottam Maas through Akshayachaitanya, your generosity becomes a living yajna, nourishing bodies and purifying the soul.
Adhik Maas 2026 begins on 17 May. Your daan cannot wait.

Frequently Asked Questions about Adhik Maas Daan
Adhik Maas — also called Purushottam Maas or Mal Maas — is an extra lunar month added to the Hindu calendar approximately every 32 to 33 months to synchronise the lunar and solar cycles. It has no solar Sankranti (the sun's transition between zodiac signs) during its span, making it set apart from all regular months.
What makes it extraordinary for Daan is the divine story behind it: this month was once rejected by all twelve presiding deities and was considered inauspicious. Lord Vishnu, in his compassion, accepted it as his own and declared that any act of charity, worship, or fasting performed during Adhik Maas carries multiplied spiritual merit — far beyond what is possible in any regular month. The Padma Purana specifically glorifies Daan during this month as one of the most powerful acts of dharma a devotee can perform.
Adhik Maas 2026 — specifically Jyeshtha Adhik Maas — begins on Sunday, 17 May 2026 and concludes on Monday, 15 June 2026. The most powerful day within this month is Purushottam Purnima on 31 May 2026, which is considered the single most auspicious day for Daan and worship in the entire Adhik Maas period.
The scriptures recommend several forms of Daan during Adhik Maas, all of which Akshayachaitanya facilitates:
- Anna Daan (food donation) — considered the supreme form of charity
- Vastra Daan (donation of clothes) — symbolises covering one's sins with divine grace
- Deep Daan (lighting of lamps / livelihood support) — represents dispelling ignorance
- Vidya Daan / Bal Daan (education donation) — supporting children's learning
- Go Daan (cow-related giving) — you can contribute to supporting cows in our gaushala
- General Daan — any monetary contribution to serve the needy
All forms of donation on our platform are directed towards serving the poor and marginalised in the spirit of the scriptures.
Yes. Akshayachaitanya is registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, India. All eligible donations made through our platform qualify for tax deduction. You will receive an official 80G receipt within [X] working days of your donation, which can be used for filing your income tax return.
Absolutely. Many devotees choose to perform Daan on behalf of a family member, a departed ancestor, or as a Sankalp (dedicated intention) for the wellbeing of a loved one. During the donation process, simply mention the name and intention in the Sankalp field. We will record the Daan in that person's name and send a personalised acknowledgement.
Yes, according to Vedic tradition. The scriptures mention that good deeds performed during Purushottam Maas — including Daan — reach departed ancestors and offer them peace and relief from karmic burdens. Purushottam Purnima (31 May 2026) is particularly significant for Pitru Tarpana and ancestral blessings. Donating on this day in memory of departed family members is considered a deeply meritorious act.
Yes, Akshayachaitanya accepts international donations. Devotees from the US, UK, UAE, Australia, Canada and other countries can contribute through our secure international payment gateway. Please note that 80G tax exemption applies only to Indian taxpayers. International donors may contact us directly for FCRA-compliant donation details.
There is no minimum. Even ₹11 or ₹21 offered with a pure heart carries immense spiritual merit during Adhik Maas. The Bhagavad Gita reminds us — it is the sincerity of the offering, not its size, that reaches the Lord. We welcome every donor regardless of the amount.
You will receive:
- An instant payment confirmation via email and SMS
- An official 80G tax receipt (for Indian donors) within [X] working days
- A personalised Daan acknowledgement in your name or the name of your Sankalp
- A periodic impact update showing how your donation was used
Purushottam Purnima is the full moon day within Adhik Maas and is widely regarded as the most spiritually powerful day of the entire month. Vedic texts state that Daan performed on this day carries a thousand times the merit of regular worship. Akshayachaitanya organises a special Maha Annadaan on Purushottam Purnima — a mass community feast in the name of Lord Purushottam — where hundreds of people are fed. Donating on this specific day is one of the most powerful acts of dharma you can perform in 2026.
Akshayachaitanya does not merely collect funds — we convert your Daan into direct, verifiable seva. Every meal we serve during Adhik Maas is prepared in hygienic conditions, served with dignity, and documented with impact reports. We organise special Purushottam Purnima Maha Annadaan events, Vastra Vitaran (clothing distribution), and Bal Seva (child welfare) activities specifically during this sacred month, honouring both the spirit of the scriptures and the real needs of those we serve.
