As a Mumbai NGO, Akshaya Chaitanya is our endeavour to make meals available to the poor around Mumbai by offering them fresh, nutritious, regionally appetising meals produced in our very own state-of-the-art FSSAI compliant kitchen. And by doing so, we hope to encourage individuals to take advantage of the limitless opportunities that exist around them, an element that is often overlooked when the stomach grumbles for food.

Akshaya Chaitanya is a Mumbai-based NGO with the objective of opening up a world of opportunity for the most disadvantaged people by guaranteeing food security. It is an initiative of the notable Hare Krishna Movement also known as HKM Foundation. Our food donation drives happen at government hospitals as well as to school children studying in municipal schools. We follow a cyclic plan that includes rice and a variety of pulses and vegetables, making it a nutritious lunch without boring the children with the same food everyday. Every day, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., we provide nutritious, healthy and freshly cooked meals.

‘Akshaya’ means endless or eternal in Sanskrit, while ‘Chaitanya’ signifies consciousness. With the dream of staying true to our name, we wish to nurture our society with eternal satisfaction achieved by consuming sattvic food which not only nourishes their body but also their consciousness.

Our donors have helped us reach a point where we can now see ourselves closer to our MISSION: To provide food to one lakh beneficiaries everyday across different vulnerable situations in Mumbai by 2025.

The contribution of our donors, towards the Swasthya Ahara Program – our hospital feeding program in Mumbai was used to

• Help them save resources – time, energy and money.
• Reduce the burden of food cost.
• Enable savings for treatment and medication.
