Inviting Volunteers to work with us on World NGO Day.

Access to the right food provides for exploring the world of opportunities. Hence, serving food is not an end, but a means to an end.

As an NGO in Mumbai, Akshaya Chaitanya is our attempt to make food accessible to the
needy across Mumbai by serving them hot, nutritious, locally palatable meals prepared at
our very own state-of-the-art FSSAI compliant kitchen. And by doing so, we want to enable
people to explore the unlimited opportunities around them, an aspect that gets muted when
stomach screams for food.

Akshaya Chaitanya, an initiative of the HKM Charitable Foundation, is an NGO in Mumbai working hard to donate food to children, poor and the needy across the city by serving them hot, nutritious, sattvic meals. They are now catering to 20 Government Hospitals in Mumbai and 74 municipal schools with their “Swasthya Ahara program” and “Bal Shiksha Ahara Program”
By supporting NGO in India, like Akshaya Chaitanya, you can donate food for charity at Mumbai’s public hospitals not only to satiate hunger but also to encourage the caregivers’ efforts to look after the patient’s health and save for medication. Managing the daily feeding programs across the city is challenging and are always welcome to work with volunteers who wish to give back by serving the society by assisting us in our food relief services. When it comes to fighting hunger in Mumbai, we can proudly say that we are one of the largest and trusted NGO in Mumbai that is on a mission to eradicate hunger from the city.

Swasthya Ahara Program was launched with a view to release the burden of the expense a
patient’s family incurs while struggling with the ailing health of a loved one. Bal Shiksha
Ahara Program was launched with an objective to achieve Zero Classroom hunger by
feeding breakfast meals to underprivileged children to improve the child’s health and
encourage child education.

World NGO Day is celebrated in more than 89 countries and over six continents
Each year World NGO Day is celebrated on February 27th.

World NGO Day is dedicated to recognize, celebrate and honour all non-government and non-profit organisations, and the people behind them that contribute to the society all year around.
People indulge in charity in India for a variety of reasons: to help eliminate poverty and to improve basic health and education metrics of the society, to tackle environmental issues, to reduce the risk of disasters or to combat social exclusion and violent conflict. In all of these fields, volunteering makes a specific contribution by driving the society towards evolution and development. In order to become one of the best NGO in India, we will need young, dynamic, self driven and compassionate volunteers who are deeply committed to bringing about a positive shift in the society by fighting hunger in Mumbai to begin with.
