Pitru Paksha, alternatively called Pitri Paksha or Shradh Paksha comprises a 16-day lunar period in the Hindu calendar dedicated to honouring ancestors, primarily through the ritual of offering food. Hence, doing charity on shradh to the poor in this period is considered highly auspicious.

At Akshaya Chaitanya we have tie ups with more than 140 municipal schools and government hospitals and cancer care centres in Mumbai. We have our central kitchen in Byculla from where we deliver hot and nutritious food to about 18,000 beneficiaries every single day.
