India became Independent in 1947 but not everybody is independent in India, our country is still on a very high scale of the Hunger Index (111th out of 125 countries) and if we don’t do anything about it, nobody will.

Mumbai, being the financial capital of the country contributes majorly in the overall development. 9 millions out of 22 million population of Mumbai lives in slums & around 60% of the household are severely insecure.

Health & education are 2 major cornerstones for holistic progress of a country.

As an NGO based in Mumbai, we at Akshaya Chaitanya, are on a mission to foster quality healthcare & education for the underprivileged through the power of nutritious meals. Our vision is to make this city, in fact, this country hunger-free.

This 77th Independence Day, support Bal Shiksha Ahara, our initiative to feed underprivileged children studying in Municipal Schools and help them have a Hunger-free academic year.

Program Reach

We serve breakfast in pre-primary and primary grades & lunch meal to grade 9th & 10th students as studies get arduous during these crucial academic years. Owing to lack of lunch support in higher grades there has been a very high drop-out rate reported.

Program Impact:

Academic Year 21-22 and 22-23

48,04,484 breakfast & lunch meals improved classroom attendance by up to 22% in 2021-23

Academic Year 23-24

30,04,650 breakfast & lunch meals improved classroom attendance by up to 24% in 2023-24
