Celebrating Maha Shivratri by Giving Back to Those in Need

Maha Shivratri is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India. It is a day dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil and the god of transformation. Every year, millions of people come together to celebrate this auspicious day with great enthusiasm and devotion.
“The fourteenth day of every lunar month or the day before the new moon is known as Shivratri. Among all the twelve Shivratris that occur in a calendar year, Mahashivratri, the one that occurs in February- March is of the most spiritual significance. On this night, the northern hemisphere of the planet is positioned in such a way that there is a natural upsurge of energy in a human being. This is a day when nature is pushing one towards one’s spiritual peak.”, shares Sadhguru, Isha Foundation.

Mahashivratri is a notable festival in Hinduism in honour of deity Shiva, reminding people to “overcome
darkness and ignorance” within themselves and the world. People celebrate it differently as per thei
beliefs, some do so by remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, and meditating. Some indulge
in charity, forgiveness, and the discovery of Shiva by going on pilgrimage.

It is a time to think about how we can make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. One of the best ways to do this is to donate food to the poor and needy.

Donating food to the poor is a great way to show your support for those in need. It is also a great way to
spread the message of compassion and kindness. By donating food to the poor, you can help to fight
hunger and provide much-needed relief to those who are struggling to make ends meet.

There are many organizations in India that are dedicated to providing food relief services to those in
need. These organizations work hard to ensure that no one goes hungry. They provide food to those
who are unable to afford it, as well as those who are living in poverty.

Indians believe in charity and donations on auspicious occasions and festivals like Mahashivratri to invite
good luck and blessings. NGO like Alshaya Chaitanya is supported by generous donations from
individuals and organizations (Corporates). The daily feeding program of this NGO in Mumbai helps feed
the underprivileged population of the city and contributes to food relief services in India. The meals are
prepared with fresh ingredients and are served in a clean and hygienic environment.

The most ideal way to overcome the darkness of hunger and starvation from the society is to donate food to poor and children who struggle to source one good meal in a day.
This Maha Shivratri, let us all come together to help those in need. Let us donate food to the poor and needy and help to fight hunger. Let us also donate to the Daily Feeding Program to ensure that no one goes hungry. By doing this, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate and offer them a chance to transform their lives by creating a food-secure society.
